How are we ever going to be ready?? 48 hours from now we will be more than half-way across the Atlantic --ready or not. We're really excited to see how things are going in Lukaya. We heard that the first day of the new school year (Mon.) went very well at Mustard Seed Academy and that the new building for P-4 & P-5 is nearly complete.
Two days after we arrive, we will greet Luke and (his uncle) Tom at the airport. Luke will be making a documentary as well as helping his uncle, and us, with many projects. Tom will be overseeing the installation of new solar panels in the village of Kalungi. The solar power is used to pump water up to a huge tank. From there, water flows to many spots in the village. It will be a blessing for all of the community members, but especially to the children and women who do most of the water hauling.
Tom will also oversee the installation of new, energy efficient, non-polluting stoves at Mustard Seed Academy. He's a man with many talents, so we will keep him busy.
So, stay tuned, we will try to post some photos and some of our thoughts and experiences as we go along. Would love to hear from you.--Elaine
